Three Questions to Ask Yourself When Choosing a Dance Style

You may have noticed there are a lot of dance styles out there. Choosing the perfect dance style for you could be a daunting task. Fortunately, there are some answers and some quick ways to understand what will work the best for you. The following are three things to consider.

1.    What Type of Music Do You Like?

In determining a style of dance, you should consider what type of music really moves you. Do you fall asleep when listening to classical pieces, or do they make you want to swirl? Does hip hop get you hopping or make you want to plug your ears? This can be a huge determining factor in your decision.

2.    Do You Enjoy Working Closely With Others?

Within styles of dance, there is partner dancing or solo dancing. If you don’t like to be touchy-feely with other people, you may want to stick to solos. If you feel like you have great connections with others and work well in a team setting, partnering might be best.

3.    Do You Want to Tell a Story?

Some dance styles actually tell a story as you move, while others are simply for entertainment. Are you the type of person who wants to portray a storyline, or do you just want the crowd to go wild from the entertainment?

If you’re interested in dancing, ask yourself these three questions and then visit this website to contact a dance school in Cary.
